Ryder Cup standings: Check out which U.S. golfers are in line to book their spots onto Keegan Bradley's team that will head to Bethpage Black in New York.
The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team is beginning to take shape.
Qualifying for Keegan Bradley's side began last March and will conclude on 17 August following the conclusion of the BMW Championship.
At this point, the top six players in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings will qualify automatically for Bradley's team.
Bradley, of course, will then have six captain's picks to choose from.
At this stage of the 2024-2025 season, Bradley will have mixed feelings about how his team is shaping up.
Current World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is yet to step into the winner's circle.
Although it has to be said that Scheffler was forced to miss the first month of the season with a hand injury.
Two-time major champion Xander Schauffele has also struggled to recapture his best form after his eight-week layoff with a rib injury.
Schauffele and Scheffler have started to show glimpses they will return to form soon, though.
Scheffler did not have his best stuff at The Masters yet finished in the top-five at the first men's major of the year.
Schauffele also finished in the top-10 at Augusta National.
Elsewhere, Collin Morikawa's form has been steady and he can count himself somewhat unfortunate that he did not convert his 54-hole lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Morikawa recently decided to hire a new caddie and make some drastic equipment changes to help change his fortunes.
The two-time major winner decided to sack JJ Jakovac and hire Max Homa's former looper Joe Greiner.
Cause for optimism?
Justin Thomas - a controversial pick by Zach Johnson in 2023 - finally ended a winless drought in April at the RBC Heritage.
Thomas had not won since the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
He backed up his victory at Hilton Head with another top five finish at the Truist Championship.
Russell Henley - who partnered Scheffler at the 2024 Presidents Cup in Canada - picked up his fifth PGA Tour win at the aforementioned Arnold Palmer Invitational.
And Brian Harman won his fourth PGA Tour title at the Valero Texas Open.
Brian Campbell, Joe Highsmith and Harris English are the only other American golfers that have won on the PGA Tour so far in 2025.
Andrew Novak, who is currently seventh in the rankings, teamed up with Ben Griffin to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
How are the LIV Golf players getting on?
Bradley says he has no plans to omit LIV Golf players from his team.
He will be thrilled that Bryson DeChambeau continues to perform well in the major championships outside of the breakaway tour.
DeChambeau played in the final group at the 2025 Masters alongside Rory McIlroy and led briefly before his bid for the green jacket came undone at the 11th hole when he found the water.
Although Bradley will be pleased with DeChambeau's performance, he will likely be a tad concerned that Brooks Koepka missed the cut.
As did Dustin Johnson.
Patrick Reed, once nicknamed Captain America, has jumped up to 23rd in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings with his decent results this year.

How the U.S. Ryder Cup team is selected
The top six players in the U.S. Ryder Cup points standings automatically qualify.
The points system rewards players for their performances in major championships and PGA Tour events.
More points are awarded for majors, hence why Xander Schauffele has already amassed a significant amount.
The qualifying period spans a two-year cycle, starting after the previous Ryder Cup and concluding a month before the next.
Captain's picks
Bradley will have six captain's picks but this has not always been the case.
Before the 2008 Cup at Valhalla, the U.S. captain was given two picks by the PGA of America.
The number was increased to four by then-captain Paul Azinger.
It was a strategy that ultimately proving successful, as the red, white and blue ran out 16 1⁄2 – 11 1⁄2 winners.
Tom Watson decided to have three captain's picks in 2014 and Jim Furyk chose four in 2018.
Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson opted for six in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
